Thompsons under 17s fall short of run target

15 Dec, 2011 03:30 PM
Wilders won the toss and elected to bat, Duncan Cameron and Jake Macklhatten threw the bat at everything scoring runs at every opportunity. Corbett, Bush and Mitch Cameron all played their part. The Boorowa bowlers did not allow Wilders batsmen to settle into any rhythm.

Nick, Ethan and Brendan limited Wilders’ scoring by bowling good line and length. Both Nick and Ethan took well-deserved wickets. Alex Blomfield again came up from the under 14s to help out the team. Blake Anderson also took the prized wicket of Nick Corbett, Wilders all out for 114.

The Boorowa side opened their batting with Josh and Greeny, the fast attack from the Wilders side keeping scoring changes down.

When wickets started to fall Nick took control and steadied the side with some great shots ably assisted by Brendan. Huey Pearsall stood his ground against the fierce pace of Nick and Jake making a good contribution.

Boorowa made a credible 87, falling short of the required runs. The team put up a good fight and again we would like to thank the Courthouse Hotel for the lend of their bus even though the driver still can’t find fifth gear.

The Bus Driver.
