02 Feb 12 | A place in local cricket history beckons for Boorowa cricketers as they attempt to be the first ever Boorowa side to win a T20 grand final tomorrow night under the bright lights at Alfred Oval commencing at 8pm. The newest format of the game has taken the world by storm and the local side has flourished in this new format in recent seasons.
02 Feb 12 | The Boorowa Gun Club held its monthly shoot on January 28 attracting 50 shooters from across the state. The highlight of the day was the 50T/D/B Championship. With five shooters shooting a possible 50/50 David Crane won with a score of 117/117 defeating Clive Foster 116/117.
02 Feb 12 | A Family Fun Night has been planned for the entire community to band together to raise money for much needed seating under the new shade at our local swimming pool. Boorowa Swimming Pool will be THE place to be on Saturday, February 11 from 5pm until 9pm.
02 Feb 12 | Nine swimmers and their families from Boorowa Amateur Swimming Club travelled to Wagga on Sunday for a big day of swimming. The day was off to a great start with Brock Ritchie swimming in the very first race and bringing home a 3rd place medal in the 800m freestyle.

26 Jan 12 | It was a weekend dominated by the bowlers in the Criterion Cup Cricket as the batsmen struggled to come to terms with the humid conditions and sticky wickets in all four games played. In the match involving Boorowa and the Coyotes, the locals almost pulled off an unlikely victory going down by four wickets after only making 86.
26 Jan 12 | The wild weather on Friday resulted in the postponement of swimming club races to Monday evening with the result being a far more pleasant evening. In the 25m events, Caprice Tesoriero did a great job in her breaststroke while Teleana O’Brien swam a strong freestyle.
Swimmers take to the blocks in Canberra
26 Jan 12 | Boorowa Swimming Club was lucky enough to be represented at two different carnivals over last weekend, at the Australian Institute of Sport in Canberra and in Quandialla. With 11 swimmers in Canberra swimming in a total of 59 events between them, personal bests were set by every single swimmer in at least one of their events.
Swimmers edge closer to breaking records
20 Jan 12 | Swimmers are setting their own personal best records every week at Swimming Club and it’s great to see all the kids encouraging each other to challenge themselves. In recent weeks some club records have also been within seconds of being beaten.
20 Jan 12 | The Emergency Services Golf Day in Young was big last year - with 120 competitor spots selling very fast - but in 2012 add a $10,000 cash splash prize to the event and there’s no telling what could happen. But no matter who wins what, the event is for a good cause.
20 Jan 12 | Well folks, what a week in sport! Dave Warner has certainly confirmed his position as the new pin-up boy of Australian cricket with one of the best knocks you are ever likely to see last Friday.
20 Jan 12 | A dominant performance by Boorowa’s pace attack resulted in a crushing victory to the locals by 123 runs over the visiting Criterion Shamrocks last Saturday. With the Boorowa outfit virtually back at full strength and the Shamrocks missing a couple of their key batsmen, Boorowa were keen not to drop two games in succession and although the batting stuttered in the middle order, the locals were in command for the majority of the game.
13 Jan 12 | Welcome back folks. I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and Happy New Year! Our cricketers are sure enjoying the year so far, apart from a shock loss to the Kiwis they have been looking great.
13 Jan 12 | Swimming Club has started 2012 with big night, giving all the swimmers the opportunity to race the 800m freestyle for the first and only time this season. They slogged it out, 16 laps of the pool, with a broad range of swimmers getting in and giving it their best shot. It’s a long way to swim and they all did a fantastic job.
13 Jan 12 | On Saturday evening January 8, 17 golfers played an Ambrose Event to begin the 2012 summer golf season. Scores were Dave Bedford, Richard Manning and Cliff Workman 33 net 26, Brian Smith and Brett Watts 35 net 30, Robert Dunwoodie, Peter Glover and Paul Walsh 37 net 30.
13 Jan 12 | A patched up Boorowa cricket team gave the Aussie Hotel a huge scare last Saturday going down by 30 runs at Gus Smith Oval in Young. With the team decimated due to players away during the silly season, a few young and not so young players gave a fine account of themselves in warmish conditions.
Showcasing Boorowa to the world
13 Jan 12 | Six teenagers from the Pacific Islands visited Boorowa earlier this week as part of an annual Rotary exchange program designed to showcase the Australian way of life. The teenagers were from Samoa, American Samoa and Tonga.
15 Dec 11 | On Saturday 10 December 2011, twenty golfers played in the Annual Greenkeepers Golf Revenge. Les Fitzgerald, who manicures the golf greens, placed the cups in some difficult positions, usually on a slope near the edge of the greens.
15 Dec 11 | Wilders won the toss and elected to bat, Duncan Cameron and Jake Macklhatten threw the bat at everything scoring runs at every opportunity. Corbett, Bush and Mitch Cameron all played their part. The Boorowa bowlers did not allow Wilders batsmen to settle into any rhythm.
