Win for Boorowa

13 Aug, 2009 08:15 AM
Boorowa has won a major award at the Country and Regional Living Expo staged in Sydney at the weekend.

Boorowa was awarded the best stand for a centre with a population less than 7,500.

Boorowa Tourism and Development Officer, Barbara Manion said her team was thrilled with the award.

The judges commented on the friendly nature of the people manning the stand and their pride in their area.

They congratulated the Boorowa team on their good branding.

“We tried to put a real country feel into our stand and it looks as if that has succeeded.

I would just like to add that those who were on the stand with us were wonderful ambassadors for Boorowa and I would like to thank Janene Hurley, Andrew Mitchell, Marilyn Miller and Karen and Geoff Mackney who did help us man the stall and for their enthusiasm for the town.” Ms Manion said.

“There has been a great deal of interest from the big crowds this year and we are very excited with the interest shown in the Boorowa area.”

“We gave out 450 Boorowa packs to interested parties. It seemed that there were more visitors to the Expo than ever this year and all age groups are keen to get out of Sydney.

We have some definite leads as a result of the Expo.” said Ms Manion

“Most successful time since I have been going” said Andrew Mitchell, Proprietor Andrew Mitchell Real Estate, Boorowa

“My real estate office has already had enquiries, from visitors to the Expo, asking about houses in town, 100 acre lots and properties.” Mr Mitchell added.

“Being next to Young, at the Expo, worked well with both areas being able to point out the advantages of the area, depending on whether visitors wanted a small country town or perhaps needed a larger town with more amenities” said Mr Mitchell

“It was interesting to see that visitors were not only taking the information available but were prepared to queue to be able to talk to someone on the stand about the advantages of Boorowa” said Mr Mitchell

This year has a real increase in those people coming to the Expo who are very serious about moving.

‘All exhibitors are reporting very genuine and well thought-out interest by the people visiting their stands.” said Peter Bailey, Expo CEO

Record crowds attended the annual Country and Regional Living Expo at Rosehill Gardens Event Centre last weekend.
