True blue through and through

29 Feb, 2008 09:59 AM
Boorowa on-road ambulance staff have traded their white shirts and navy pants for a more modern and practical look. In line with all NSW ambos our team is now sporting the new ‘blues’ – a great improvement with cargo style pants and cotton shirts.

OHAS has been addressed in the new design with strategically placed reflective strips. The new uniform has more pockets for the storage of essential medical equipment and is completed with either a cap or beanie for all weather situations.

“It’s a lot more practical,” said Heidi Godsman. “Comfort has been increased too.”

“I think the upgrade of the image in general is a good thing,” said Des Daley. “We get away from the white shirts, which weren’t very practical, and this colour is still highly visible.”

Another change marking the new look is the renaming of our Ambulance officers. In line with international standards, these highly trained men and women will now be referred to as paramedics.
