Local organisations shared in $38,000 worth of funding at the Boorowa Community Bank annual Grants Presentation Night last Wednesday.
In the Bank’s third grants program, the money was allocated to nine local projects that met the criteria of a local community project aimed at youth, aged, families, community capacity building, the environment, arts and cultural initiatives as well as public health and education.
Reids Flat Union church was given $10,191 for restoration work, while Rye Park Public School P&C received $7,000 for a Sun Safe learning area.
Burrowa House successfully applied for $6,765 to upgrade their computer system and The United Hospital Auxiliary was given $5,000 towards upgrading beds in the Boorowa Hospital.

The Community Bank congratulates these organisations and wishes them well with their projects.
In addition to the grants, the Boorowa Community Bank also gave $8,618 as sponsorship to the Boorowa Combined Primary Schools Touch/Netball Carnival.
This money will be used to purchase 44 goal post pads, a shade shelter and a trailer for equipment storage.
Community organisations were encouraged to apply for grants back in June.
The annual program is run by the Boorowa Community Bank as a way of dispersing bank profits in a fair, tax effective, equitable and transparent manner.
To be eligible for a grant, a project must have a charitable purpose and must have a benefit to the local community.
Grant applications totalling $40,000 were approved last year while $60,000 was approved the previous year.
Examples of projects in previous years are the restoration of the Boorowa War Memorial, installation of disabled toilets at the Showground, construction of a gazebo at Carinya Court and restoration of the stained glass windows at St Patrick’s Church.
