Ron Bryce, 85, who depends on a walking frame to get about, has been delighted to call the community hostel, Burrowa House "home" for the past nine years.
So he was shocked to discover his status as a resident there has prompted Boorowa Hospital's community transport program to discriminate against him.
On several occasions, when he has needed community transport to travel to Canberra for vital procedures, he has been denied help because he does not live in a private residence.
