DANIEL'S EXCELLENT RESULTS
Boorowa Central School Captain for 2011, Daniel Anlezark, achieved excellent results in the recent HSC.
His marks included a Band 6 in Ancient History, earning him a place on the Board of Studies Honour Role for the most highly achieving students in the state.
Daniel’s teachers are extremely proud of the sustained effort and positive attitude, which along with his talents have allowed him to achieve these outstanding results.
Daniel will further his studies at the University of Canberra.
He has won several scholarships to assist in his further education and undoubtedly will make the most of these opportunities.
STUDENTS GET ARTY
The Visual Arts department had a fantastic 2011.
We started off with a visit from the NSW RSPCA van which our 2010 Year 8 Creative Arts students designed the mural pictured on the van.
The van looked great with our students’ work on it and the work will be shown off all around NSW.
Zeb Salt in Year 8 was a runner up in the annual Bike Helmet design competition, receiving a special certificate for his creative efforts.
Another Year 8 student, Alex Blomfield, was one of 12 national runners up in a National Reconciliation Australia poster competition, with Alex also receiving a certificate, as well as the privilege of having his poster printed on a postcard. Maddi Pearsall in Year 11 was also a finalist in the prestigious annual Silkcut Lino Print Award with her detailed and skilful lino print.
The Year 12 students, Daniel Anlezark, Brooke Keefe, Erin Myers and Shane Archer, have worked extremely hard to produce some strong and cohesive Bodies of Work for the HSC this year, with themes including Feminism, Religion, Greek Mythology and Postmodernism.
