Boorowa born, bred and wed - for 60 years

29 Nov, 2007 05:52 AM
Ronald Bryce may be a little less physically mobile than he once was, but there is no mistaking his quick mind and memory as he speaks of his 60 year marriage to the former Miss Kitty Writer. Ronald and Kit Bryce will celebrate their diamond wedding anniversary this week; a milestone acknowledged with letters from Queen Elizabeth II, John Howard, the Governor General and the Governor of NSW, as well as local members, Alby Schultz and Kate Hodgkinson.

Ronald and Kit were married in St Patrick’s Church and were the first couple ever married by a very young Fr O’Brien. After a honeymoon in Sydney and Wollongong, they moved into their first home together in Brial Street – with no electricity, a faulty wood stove and a leaking roof.
