Congratulations to Mrs Angela Gay on her recent promotion to Assistant Principal of Primary at Boorowa Central School.
Mrs Gay (pictured) has been a teacher for 18 years of which the last six have been at Boorowa Central School, she has also taught in Sydney, Perth and Young.
Apart from years of experience, Mrs Gay is not only a specialist Early Childhood and Infants teacher but also highly trained as a Reading Recovery teacher and a Support Teacher for Learning Assistance.
Mrs Gay is pleased to say that over the last three years there has been no interruption to learning policy and this means that all classes from kindergarten to year six participate in a two hour literacy program which includes intensive language groups and there is a numeracy session every day for one hour.
Mrs Gay also said that the Primary classes are up to five this year and particularly in the lower grades the classes are smaller, with the largest only having 22 students in.
“For the first time in five years, there is a straight Kindergarten Class of 14 students and a 1-2 class of only 19 students and both these classes have teachers that are specialists in Reading Recovery and Support Teachers in Learning Assistance, and there is a Teachers’ Aide in daily in each class” said Mrs Gay.
