Show and Shine cancelled due to organiser's illness
02 Feb 12 | The Boorowa Annual Show and Shine for 2012 has unfortunately been cancelled due to illness of one of the organisers. The annual event has proved to be very popular and successful in previous years hosting a large display of cars and creating interest amongst the town and car enthusiasts alike.

02 Feb 12 | Local resident John Snelling has clinched Boorowa Apex’s Citizen of the Year Award at the town’s Australia Day presentation last week. Mr Snelling, involved in many of Boorowa’s organisations and activities, was awarded the honour for his dedication and commitment to the town.
02 Feb 12 | The owner of Boorowa’s Caltex has said the NSW government’s decision not to ban regular unleaded petrol after July 1 will benefit farmers and owners of older cars. The state government announced Monday it would not go ahead with the ban, under which regular unleaded in NSW was to be replaced by E10, a petrol-ethanol blend that contains between 9% and 10% ethanol by volume.

26 Jan 12 | More than 38mm of rain fell in Boorowa last Saturday as storm clouds rolled in across the shire. A total of 38.8mm of rain was recorded, more than the median monthly rainfall for January of 37.3mm.

Sad passing of former Boorowa resident
26 Jan 12 | The death has occurred on Wednesday, January 18 of Iris Lillian Gagelan (nee Wood) of Revesby at the age of 89 years. Iris grew up in Eualla, Pudman Street, Boorowa (Snow Barnes home).
26 Jan 12 | Students at St Joseph’s Primary school excelled academically, also in Music, Public Speaking and Sports in 2011. Congratulations to all children who won awards on the presentation night along with those who tried their best throughout the year.

Rugby Club lends a hand to local cadets
20 Jan 12 | The Boorowa Rugby Club has continued its involvement in the community with a donation to the local Cadets. Cadets secretary Fiona Allison said the donation was very much appreciated and thanked the Rugby club for its generosity.

Visitors came from Canberra, Sydney, the South Coast, Canowindra, Grenfell and local areas to assist Lesley in marking this significant milestone.
20 Jan 12 | Born in Young, 4 April 1926 to Albert Charles (Butty) and Harriett Patterson. He lived in Murringo with his siblings - Jack, Will, Les (Snow), Rex - all deceased. Survived by his brother Bert and sisters - Jill Fahey, Una McDonald, Roma Newham, Sally Lawler & Pam Dunn.
20 Jan 12 | A local couple has celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary, receiving a letter of congratulations from Queen Elizabeth II for the occasion. Allan and Gloria Glover celebrated their milestone with family at the Ex-Services Club, marking sixty years since their wedding on 29 December 1951.

13 Jan 12 | Tara and Steve Blacker celebrated their wedding on November 26, 2011. Tara and Steve were married at St Patricks catholic church and the reception was held at “Wantana” the Darmody’s home property.
13 Jan 12 | Each year a resident of Boorowa is chosen as the Most Inspiring Local Woman to be presented with an award at the International Women’s Day this year to be held on Sunday, March 11 at the Boorowa Ex-Services Club. Marg Rose won the inaugural award.
13 Jan 12 | Peter Herbert, an accomplished writer and producer, with an extensive range of credits in television, stage, event work and film this Australia Day Ambassador for Boorowa Council.
