First rally for 2010
04 Mar 10 | It was a moist but magnificent start to the Boorowa Pony Club year when some of your younger but nonetheless earnest riders met for the first rally of 2010. Ably instructed by Janet Marchant and Gail Arabin, these young riders look forward to another great year with Boorowa Pony Club.
Losing their locks
04 Mar 10 | Beautiful long locks will be a thing of the past for some high school students at Boorowa Central. Seven daring students, including four girls, are putting on brave faces and taking part in this year’s Leukaemia Foundation’s World’s Greatest Shave fundraiser.
Rain and runs but no result
18 Feb 10 | In weather conditions more conducive to the first weekend of the footy season, Boorowa and Young JRL managed to get a game of cricket in before the heavens opened up last Saturday. Unfortunately for the locals, despite winning the match by three wickets, the victory is only a moral one as the other matches in the competition were washed out deeming this one a no result too.
TRAFFIC TURMOIL
18 Feb 10 | Boorowa’s Marsden Street road upgrade came to a halt last week after levels to a section of the road were found to be uneven. On Tuesday February 9, staff were reviewing survey levels for the upgrade when it became apparent that the levels of the road were incorrect.
Personal Bests for Swimmers
04 Feb 10 | Boorowa Swim Club was represented by 18 swimmers at last Sunday’s South Western carnival at Yass. This is the biggest representation from the club for many years and an indication of how much our young members are enjoying their swimming.
Bike path extended
04 Feb 10 | An extension on the already existing bike path around the central township of Boorowa is well underway. Boorowa Council are currently working on stage one of the six month long project, which will see an extension on the pathway around Dry, Ford, Campbell, North, Jugiong, Market, Marsden, Parnell and Long Streets.

Peter Dewar honoured
28 Jan 10 | The Boorowa community turned out in large numbers for this year’s Australia Day festivities held at the Boorowa Recreation Ground. A lifetime of community service and dedication was recognised on Tuesday with Peter Dewar announced as Boorowa’s Citizen of the Year.
Mixed start
21 Jan 10 | It’s been a slow start to the year for the Boorowa cricketers with a loss and a draw from the two games since resuming after Xmas. Last Saturday saw the Criterion Shamrocks led by Publican Barry (Diamond Duck) McGahon visit the recreation ground, together with their loyal band of vocal supporters.

21 Jan 10 | The Roads and Traffic Authority(RTA)upgrade of Marsden Street has earned the ire of a number of local business owners and residents who have questioned the timing of the work during the busy school holiday period.

17 Dec 09 | After narrowly missing the cut for first grade due to a lower run quotient, Boorowa issued a sound warning to those remaining sides in second grade cricket by crushing Young JRL by seven wickets at the recreation ground last Saturday.
Donations to Schools
17 Dec 09 | The annual Touch/Netball Carnival was held at the Boorowa Showground on October 30 in ideal conditions, with the grounds looking the best yet and the weather being perfect.
Cricketers good form continues
10 Dec 09 | Boorowa Continued its good form in the Criterion Cup cricket last weekend with its third straight win, this time at the expense of the Criterion Shamrocks.
Highlight for St Patrick’s Church
10 Dec 09 | One of the highlights for St Patrick’s Church will have to be the ordination to the Permanent Deaconate of local Patrick Whale, who is the husband of Fran Whale who manages the St Vincent Shop in Boorowa.
Kia Hiwa Ra New Zealand - the Goldies are coming!
03 Dec 09 | On the back of a successful 2009 season, many aspects of Boorowa Rugby Union Clubs’ 2010 season are well and truly organised. Apart from the Clubs hope for back to back premierships, the club will also conduct an overseas tour in the pre-season to the South Island of the Shaky Isles, New Zealand.

03 Dec 09 | There are millions of dollars worth of machines in Boorowa, at the moment, waiting to start on the harvest.
Round Five action
26 Nov 09 | Boorowa touch with the assistance of the NSW Touch Association conducted a Level 1 referee course last Monday evening. A total of 23 players completed the theory section of the course. On field assessment needs to be completed before the Christmas break. A big thanks to all for your attedance.
Boorowa goes international
26 Nov 09 | On November 9 and 10, Boorowa community played host to an international television crew from the Tzu Chi Foundation. Supported by a group of members from their Sydney office the Da Ai television crew were focusing on Boorowa and how the local community had been addressing natural resource management issues, particularly focusing on salinity.
Narrow Loss to Cricketers
19 Nov 09 | Boorowa had a costly nine run loss in last Saturday’s cricket against the very determined and spirited S&C Young ones at the recreation ground. It was a disappointing result for the locals, particularly after their impressive effort the week before to route the Coyotes.
Kate wins Title
19 Nov 09 | Local Kate McGrath was announced as winner of the Boorowa Miss Showgirl 2010 on Saturday night. After a gruelling day with the three judges, the four ladies got to celebrate Kate’s win at the cocktail party on Saturday night.

10 Mar 10 | Michael Clarke needs to choose between a fraught personal life and his career in cricket. All the evidence indicates that the current position is untenable. As Mark Anthony could testify, obsession can be a man's undoing. If Clarke is unwilling to make the call, then cricket will make it for him.
