26 Sep 08 | BOOROWA Central School students in Year 10 had a taste of what to expect when applying for a job and having a
formal interview with an employer
earlier this week.
For the last 12 years Rotary Club of Boorowa and Rotary Club of Canberra North have given their time to assist in preparing the students in Year 10 for when they enter the work force.
26 Sep 08 | BOOROWA Golf Club Championships were played over 54 holes last weekend, with 27 holes on Saturday and Sunday.
Robert Styles won his fourteenth Club Championship with scores of 99 and 101.
19 Sep 08 | THE last round of the Boorowa Ladies Golf Championship was played last week with the winner Wendy Tuckerman securing the crown for the third year in a row.
Wendy again played a sterling round of 78 to win by 19 shots over the three rounds with a total score of 240.
18 Sep 08 | THE results are in from last
weekend’s local council elections.
This term of council for Boorowa, will be interesting with four new
candidates taking their place in the Council Chambers.
This election, Boorowa saw 14
candidates contesting for nine
councillor positions.
12 Sep 08 | The Boorowa Fishing Club went to the Grabine Fishing Classic on a cool weekend. Boorowa had a good tournament with Chris Mason winning the biggest Murray cod at 4.5kg. Tony Corcoran caught the biggest bream at 2kg. Former Boorowa lady Debbie Batt won the $10,000 fishing boat.
12 Sep 08 | TURNED: Boorowa Mayor, Cr Wendy Tuckerman, turns the first sod on the site of the development of the new Rotunda. The day was a great success organised by the Rotary Club and featured food and family fun in the park. The spade used in the sod-turning was auctioned off and bought by Fr Greg Beath on behalf of St Patrick’s Parish. It will be inscribed and kept in the Boorowa Museum for posterity.
